As you can see from my results, I experienced growth in seven out of the ten competencies. I showed the most growth in competency 3 (The superintendent knows how to communicate and collaborate with families and community members, respond to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilize community resources to ensure educational success for all students) and competency 8 (The superintendent knows how to apply principles of effective leadership and management in relation to district budgeting, personnel, resource utilization, financial management, and technology application. Even though I had growth in other competencies, I am not pleased that I do not feel more confident about my abilities in those areas.
As I develop my professional development plan for this course, I will definitely focus on the following competencies, as they are areas where I did not grow: Competency 5 (The superintendent knows how to facilitate the planning and implementation of strategic plans that enhance teaching and learning; ensure alignment among curriculum, curriculum resources, and assessment; use the current accountability system; and promote the use of varied assessments to measure student performance), competency 6 (The superintendent knows how to advocate, promote, and sustain an instructional program and a district culture that are conducive to student learning and staff professional growth) and competency 10 (The superintendent knows how to apply organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to comply with federal and state requirements and facilitate positive change in varied contexts). Being a kinesthetic learner, I will look for activities to incorporate in my professional development plan that will allow me to become more “hands-on” and learn in a way that is meaningful to me.

Nice job. I really wish I had thought to use the colors and the numerical format on mine.
Good honest reflection of where you believe you are in your pursuit. I think we are all headed in the right direction through this program. Good job.
Great reflection. You were very precise with your competencies. I liked the numerical chart.
Nice chart, I like the comparison. I agree with you on Domain 6, this is a difficult area for me as well.
Good luck - the end is in sight.
